Basic 3 - Hollow Construction

Let's shift towards a sculptural approach and explore more in depth knowledge of how to construct and solder with increased efficiency. Hollow rings are a great way to exercise your technical and fitting skills. Learn how to make the inner ring fit perfectly, then design anything you like for the outside shape with consideration to comfort and practicality...or not! These techniques are easily translated to containers and 3 dimensional components of all kinds.
Skill Level: Basic 101 & Basic 2
Tuition: $250
Lab Fee: $15
Materials: Students bring their own or purchase from HVS

Broken Line Necklace

Learn how to make this elegant, organic necklace with pearl or gemstone beads. We’ll use a simple technique to build the piece from rigid beaded segments, connecting them so that they have movement and fluidity. We’ll explore ways in which you can use this method to make your own earring, necklace or bracelet designs.
Skill Level: No experience necessary but good eyesight or magnifying eye wear is - we’ll be working very small.
Tuition: $125
Lab Fee: $10
Materials: Wire & findings kit $10.
Beads are available for purchase from instructor (cost varies depending on materials used) or students can bring their own.
