Sat-Sun     3/19-20     10:00-4:00

(Raychel Wengenroth)

Let's shift towards a sculptural approach and explore more in depth knowledge of how to construct and solder with increased efficiency. Hollow rings are a great way to exercise your technical and fitting skills. Learn how to make the inner ring fit perfectly, then design anything you like for the outside shape with consideration to comfort and practicality...or not! These techniques are easily translated to containers and 3 dimensional components of all kinds.

Torch Fired Link Bracelet

Sat     3/26     10:00-4:00

(Dawn Lombard)

Explore the spontaneity of torch fired enameling. This is a beginner level class in which students will learn the art of fusing powdered glass (enamel) and waterslide decals (iron oxides) to metal using a hand held torch. Each student will learn the preparation of metal, applying of enamels/decals, firing and proper safety. Hands on work allows you to use and understand the tools and supplies involved in firing this ancient art.

In addition to enameling, the class will teach you how to use a jewelers saw, shears, files, center punch, pliers, and Whitney Roper punch. Using a simple decals technique, we will spend the day making a gorgeous link bracelet hat you can take home with you that very day.

Skill Level: No experience necessary

Tuition: $125

Lab Fee: $15

Materials: $25
