Torch Fired Enameled Earrings
Sat 1/22 10:00 - 4:00
(Dawn Lombard)
Explore the spontaneity of torch fired enameling. This is a beginner level class in which students will learn the art of fusing powdered glass (enamel) to metal using a hand held torch. Each student will learn the preparation of metal, application of enamel, firing and proper safety. Hands on work allows you to use and understand the tools and supplies involved in firing this ancient art. In addition to enameling, the class will teach you how to use a hydraulic press, dies, files, center punch, pliers, and Whitney Roper punch. Using simple yet sophisticated surface design techniques, we will spend the day making multiple pairs of earrings that you can take home with you that very day. Please tie long hair back.
