COLD CONNECTIONS
Sat Oct 29 • 10:00 - 4:00PM

There are many ways to connect materials using methods that don’t require soldering, making it ideal for it’s versatility. Metal, plexiglass and wood are just a few examples of materials that can easily be combined. A variety of different rivets will be the main focus of this workshop, however linking, pronging and simple wire techniques will also be discussed. The basic concept is how to mechanically secure objects without the use of glue (a tacky 4 letter word). Attaching pieces without the use of a torch and full soldering set up makes it far more conducive to the home based studio as well. The range of potential materials and minimal tooling make it an ideal way to create pieces with more size and substance.
